Walking back into the dorm room after a pleasant shower you saw the rest of team RWBY, JNPR, Neptune and a half asleep Sun all sitting around on the beds and chairs wearing worn out clothing that fully covered them from head to toe instead of their normal choices, grabbing a dark green wool shirt you quickly put it on before wrapping a long belt around your waist with sword and dagger attached before joining the others taking note of the bags next to Yang and Ruby.

(Y/N): So what’s with the old clothing? And same goes for the bags beside the two of you.
Ruby: Well we don’t need our good clothes being ruined during paintball, I’m pretty sure that you don’t want a silk shirt ruined either. As for the bags these are Yang’s and my own customized paintball guns.
(Y/N): Okay seriously, what in Thor’s name is paintball?
Nora: You don’t know?!
(Y/N): How can I know of something I’ve never heard of before?
Sun: He has a good point.
Neptune: Buuut we’ll just let you find out what it is when we get to the field.
(Y/N): You’re really going to pull that move on me huh?
Neptune: You bet I am!
Weiss: So the rest of your team isn’t going to be joining us?
Blake: Apparently they’re sick.
Weiss: That’s upsetting.
(Y/N): Oh well, maybe next time.
Yang: You sure that you’ll want there to be a next time with this game?
(Y/N): Well if you can play it again then I should have no problem with it.
Yang: *glare* And what exactly is that supposed to mean?
(Y/N):  That’s up to you to find out.
Nora: Guys come on we’re burning daylight! And I want to get as many games in as possible.
Weiss: Please stop pulling on my arm…
Neptune: To the bullhead!
Yang: Yeah let’s kick (Y/N)’s scaly green butt!
(Y/N): Oh really?
Ruby: Yeah! You’re at the mercy of the ‘Devilish Sisters’ now!
(Y/N): Let’s just see if that bark is equal to the bite. If you’re huntress enough that is.
Yang+Ruby: Bring it on!

Getting nearly dragged by the two sisters to the landing pads you could hear laughter coming from the others and some students that you happened to pass by, finally releasing their hold on your wrist they stepped onto the shuttle stopping beside the members of team CFVY who were also dressed in older clothing much to your surprise.

(Y/N): You guys are going to this paintball thing as well?
Coco: Hey a chance to shoot the crap with my friends and raise a little hell while we’re at it is what I’d call a great way to finish the weekend.
Velvet: And Fox kind of needed the adrenaline fix.
Fox: Guilty as charged.
Yatsuhashi: I just came along because Velvet asked me to.
(Y/N): Oh ho really? Does that lead to there being something amongst the two of you?
Yatsuhashi: Such information is unavailable to anyone outside of team CFVY.
(Y/N): Whatever you say my friend.
Velvet: Say (Y/N) when do you think I could get your assistance to make that dress I asked your help for so long ago?
(Y/N): Well I could help out over the next week with the cuts at the least. Just don’t ask me to do the measurements on you.
Coco: Oh don’t you worry about it; I already took care of those.
Pilot: Lifting off in five minutes.
Coco: Now hurry up and take a seat already.
(Y/N): Fine, fine this corner is mine. *chuckle* Hey that rhymed.

Quickly coiling into the corner near the others you settled down with your tail coiling in moderately large circles beneath you allowing you to share the same height as Yatsuhashi while using it as a make shift seat, glancing to the open doors of the shuttle seeing the remainder of your friends pile into the shuttle and find their own seats nearby and strap in for the ride. Grabbing onto the handle above your head you felt a weight land on the coils of your tail, looking to the new arrival with some shock you saw Yang laying on your tail with her hands behind her head and one foot propped against your tail  while sending a small grin your way.
Yang: Then I guess this seat is mine.
(Y/N): *chuckle* That’s my tail Yang, not a seat.
Yang: Well you use it like a seat almost every day so what’s the problem with me using it like one for a couple of hours?
(Y/N): Never said there was a problem with that, just didn’t expect you to flop onto my tail like that.
Yang: Then don’t complain about it, wait a minute…. Are there lungs in your tail?
(Y/N): You really thought that normal lungs would keep me functioning at my size?
Pyrrah: Then by all logic you should have a secondary heart correct?
(Y/N): Indeed I do and it’s about six times the size of the one in my chest, as for the lungs they’re almost ten times the size meaning I don’t need to breathe as often as other people do… outside of combat that is.
Coco: No offence but your biology is fucked up all ways from Sunday. Although I do hope for Yang’s sake that your biology is normal where it counts, I’m pretty sure she’s hoping for the same thing.
Yang: Oh my god Coco will you stop with that already?!
(Y/N): *laughter* None taken, I had the same thought when I first found out about the extra organs.
Nora: So what does your tongue do? We’ve seen you flick it towards Grimm and stuff before.
(Y/N): Nora I’m part snake what do you think it’s for?
Nora: Hunting down some of Ren’s pancakes?
(Y/N): I… *sigh and chuckle* I guess I could use it for that.
Coco: He could also use it to-
(Y/N): Coco, that is quite enough of that kind of talk.
Coco: Right, right sorry. I couldn’t help it.
Velvet: And how exactly did you find out about them? Your extra lungs and what not I mean.
(Y/N): Found out the hard way through a sucking wound in both upper lungs and a puncture through my smaller heart, all thanks to a really pissed off Death Stalker with my sword stuck in its face.
Sun: Um… Wow, that- that is a disturbing thought.
Weiss: Are they even usable now?
(Y/N): Well thanks to surgery and my own aura they are in top shape.
Ruby: Did it hurt?
(Y/N): Did it hurt? Did it- oh did it ever hurt. Basically take the worst pain you have ever felt in your life and multiply it by  about thirty, then you get near how bad it hurt. Then add the image of seeing the end of a giant stinger protruding from where your heart is and covered in your own blood while your friends try ripping it out of your back after killing the monstrosity that it belongs to.
Neptune: And now you win the award for seeing the worst thing ever… of all time.
(Y/N): Well at least I won something for my efforts.
Pilot: Alright everyone get settled in because we are lifting off in three… two…one.

Feeling the aircraft lurch and accelerate into the sky you subconsciously wrapped a coil around Yang ensuring that she wouldn’t tumble around or fall out in the bullhead which got you a small look of surprise from the Blonde Brawler and everyone else for only a brief moment until they did whatever they wanted to do to pass the next few hours, feeling a hand on your tail you glanced down again to see Yang slowly tracing the intricate knot work markings from when you made that deal with Jormungandr. Catching the look on her face when she glanced to the other parts of the marking you saw what appeared to be a mix of happiness and curiosity, letting it slide you close your eyes listening to the others talking and the constant drone of the bullhead’s engines. After a while you felt Yang crawl out from the coil around her waist and quickly leaned towards you with her scroll in hand and looking towards the forward camera on it with a goofy smile.

Yang: Hey (Y/N)?
(Y/N): Yeah?
Yang: Are you sitting on a pile of sugar?
(Y/N): Um no, why?
Yang: BECAUSE YOU GOT A SWEET ASS!
Others: *dying of laughter*
(Y/N): I… what?
Neptune: The look on your face man! The look!
Coco: I’m crying! It hurts to laugh.
(Y/N): I hate all of you for laughing at that.
Ruby: No you don’t!
------------------------------------------------------(Time Skip)----------------------------------------------------------------------

Clambering out of the bullhead you were greeted with the smell of a camp fire and a constant popping noise followed by the occasional yelp of pain or a command, watching Ruby and Nora quickly dash past everyone cheering at the top of their lungs you couldn’t help but laugh at their antics until you felt someone bump your shoulder. Glancing over you saw Yang giving you the largest smile to date while bouncing on her toes with a glimmer of excitement in her eyes, grabbing onto your hand she quickly guided you to the front desk where the others were either filling out some papers or simply waiting for the rest of you. Stopping at the desk you saw a young man walk out from another room and approach you and Yang.

Cashier: Are the two of you with them?
(Y/N): Indeed we are.
Cashier: Alright so two tickets, that will be eighty Lien each for the gear and bags of paintballs.
(Y/N)+Yang: Here you are.
Cashier: Excellent now these are your waivers for today, fill them out and hand them over to the folks at the armoury station.
(Y/N): You’re the boss.
Yang: Hold on a second. So this is his first time ever playing paintball so can we get a good old fashioned gauntlet run for him?
(Y/N): Gauntlet run?
Cashier: You bet we can! Just make sure that he gets his faceplate before we get that started. You better be ready to pop your cherry out here big guy, because it’s gonna be fun!
Yang: Can do! Come on let’s get suited up!
(Y/N): Pop my cherry? What in Helhiem is that supposed to mean?
Yang: *nervous chuckle* Don’t worry about it, just another saying around here.

Carrying on through the building the two of you quickly filled out the paperwork, handing it over to a few other workers they handed you a face plate and a set of coveralls. Looking at them in confusion they realized the problem before simply handing you an old jacket while taking the coveralls from your grip with an awkward laugh on their part, waving it off as a simple mistake you carried on to the next person who handed you what you assumed was some sort of non-lethal firearm with a bulbous protrusion on the top and a small air tank on the back of it they also handed you a four bags of colourful spheres which you assumed to be the ammunition, regrouping with the others you quickly followed after them putting your faceplate onto the table beside you and reaching an arm into your jacket only to have Yang grab your wrist. Sending her a questioning look you only got a mischievous smirk from her in return, looking to the others with the same look they either tried to avoid eye contact or were holding back laughter behind their own faceplate. Watching Yang and Ruby place the bags from earlier onto the table they opened the zippers and pulled out their own rifles that seemed to suit them both, Yang had what looked more like a legitimate carbine rifle compared to the one you got in her own signature yellow and black covering most of it and Ruby unsurprisingly had a long barreled variant similar to a semi automatic sniper rifle painted red with black accents and sported what looked like a low powered scope along the top rails. Hearing a loud air horn go off you all looked towards the origin of the noise seeing the same cashier from earlier dressed in a bright orange vest with a faceplate resting on top of his head standing in front of a large group of other people here for the same event.

(Y/N): What’s with his gear?
Ruby: He’s a referee for our games. Or you can call him ‘Ref’ for short.
(Y/N): Ah, I see.
Ref: Alright everybody I have an announcement to make, today we have a person that has never played paintball before in their life! So would… (Y/N)… Rolfson I hope I’m saying that name correctly please get their butt up here.
(Y/N): *stands beside Ref* You called?
Ref: Oh sweet holy-! How did you get up here so quick?!
(Y/N): That’s just how I normally move. So what do you need me for?
Ref: Well my scaly buddy you are going to be running the famous rookie gauntlet, which means that you can either let your shirt become covered in paint or run it without a shirt.
(Y/N): Guess I run it without, kind of difficult to get paint out of wool. *removes shirt*
Yang: Aw yeah!
Ref: Well alright then. Everyone else line up over here in single file and load your guns!
(Y/N): Wait what?
Ref: Did your friends not tell you about this part?
(Y/N): No… no they did not. Eh, can’t be that bad.
Ref: That’s the spirit! Oh hey check it out; your buddies are at the very end. Guess they want to get the last few shots on you.
(Y/N): Of course they would. So what do I have to do?
Ref: You have the easy part all you need to do is wait for me to use this air horn and when you hear it go off, you haul your butt straight down this path until you cross the line at the other end. Word of warning, do not stop no matter what.
(Y/N): That sounds foreboding.
Ref: Well let’s get this party started! Shooters at the ready! Aim! *sounds air horn* RUN FOREST RUN!!!

Propelling yourself forward you saw a barrage of the coloured spheres fly in your direction at a startling speed before you were hit with what felt like several dozen punches every second while a constant popping noise removed your chances of hearing anything else around you. Flinching with every new shot that connected on your skin you let out a string of profanity that would make the most foul mouthed sailor blush ten shades of red, having the visor of your faceplate become slightly covered in paint you tried wiping the gunk away only to smear the colours together blocking your vision even more. Giving up on the lens you pressed forward trying to get out of the chaos until you heard the air horn sound off again ending the onslaught of paint, lifting the mask from your face you looked over yourself to see almost every inch of skin and scales on your torso, kilt and upper tail covered in several different colours and layers of paint. While the impacts hurt more than you expected you were just happy that none of them hit your more important pieces beneath your kilt, looking towards the other players you saw Yang and everyone else that you came to the field with on either all fours or their backs gasping for air with how hard they were laughing at you. Doubling over for a moment you let out a small grunt of pain before standing back up and giving a light chuckle at what you had just done.

(Y/N): Oh-ho-hoooo, that’s brisk…
Ref: I’ve gotta hand it to you, you took that like a champ. Most rookies are crying at the end of it and here you are laughing while looking like a modern art piece.
(Y/N): Well I have definitely been faced with worse pain than that in my lifetime but it was still very unpleasant. But I need to know one thing, how many people did I just run past?
Ref: You just ran past everyone that’s here for the event so you ran past about two hundred and fifty people.
(Y/N): Well that explains a lot.
Yang: *laughter* You’re like a living rainbow right now!
(Y/N): What you want to be one as well?
Yang: Not really.
(Y/N): Give me a hug!
Yang: Oh no!

Chasing Yang for the next minute or so you were both laughing like lunatics while everyone else around you was either taking pictures of or were recording your antics, cutting off her route you lashed out with your tail and pulled her into your chest wrapping your arms around her with a loud splat sending paint everywhere. Holding her tight for a few more seconds you heard the others laughing again at what just happened, letting her go you couldn’t help but laugh at what you saw in front of you. The famous blonde brawler of Patch was now coated in rainbow paint from the waist up with no visibility through her visor; petting the top of her head you received a hard punch in return knocking the wind from your lungs.

(Y/N): Ow…
Yang: That’s what you get for doing this to me.
(Y/N): Oh as if you wouldn’t do the same thing.
Yang: … Well you’re not wrong about that. Still pissed that you got paint in my hair, but I guess I can over look it this time.
Weiss: You’re not going to kill him for touching your hair?
(Y/N): He’s a special case. Besides I’m bound to get some paint in my hair today anyway.
Weiss: Oh, alright then.
Ruby: He lives to see another day!
(Y/N): So uh can I get a towel or something? I don’t really enjoy being a rainbow…
Ref: Well you need to stay that way until the end of the day, field rules.
(Y/N): *sigh* This is gonna suck. So Blake, I blend in do I?
Blake: … Shut up.
Pyrrah: Well if we get caught in a candy factory you should be fine.*snicker*
RWBYNJ: OOOOH!
Neptune: Dude even she’s punching fun at you, there is no way that you can live this down!
(Y/N): *shoots Neptune*
Neptune: Ow! Okay I get it!
Sun: Yeah I’m good with not saying anything about it.
(Y/N): Good call.
Jaune: So are we all staying together for this game?
Yang: Nope! Signed (Y/N) and Jaune to the defenders team and the rest of us to the attacking groups, thought that would make it more interesting for everyone.
Jaune+(Y/N): Wait, what?
Ren: So now you just changed the idea of us all being on the same team?
Yang: Just a little bit.
(Y/N): I don’t know if I should be mad or excited for the challenge.
Weiss: Just go with a bit of both, it’s what I do for all of her ideas.
(Y/N): Fair point, now where did my shirt and jacket go?
Velvet: We put them on the bench behind us just to make sure that neither was taken by accident.
(Y/N): Wonderful, thank you.
Ref: Alright everybody, who’s ready to get their paintball on?!
Crowd: Yeah!
Ref: Then follow me; it’s going be a long walk to your bases.
Yang: You ready to lose?
(Y/N): I’m never ready to lose, so you are going to have to really try if you want to win.
Yang: Oh you’re so going down now. Hey Ruby, *hands her some cash* take this and get us a few grenades.
Ruby: Sure thing sis!
Blake: You have no idea what you just started (Y/N). Those two are going to bring some major hurt on you with those grenades.
(Y/N): They need to get close enough first.
Yang: Well then I guess you just need to ‘Yang’ in there and wait to see if we do so or not. *finger guns*
(Y/N): *dying inside*
Weiss: That was the worst one yet.
Coco: Can we get going yet?
Jaune: Just waiting on Ruby.
---------------------------------------------------------(Time Skip)-------------------------------------------------------------------

Walking through the tree line you occupied your time with tying the blue band around your left arm and carefully loading the canister of your gun making sure that none of the rounds fell to the ground, hearing a few people joking in the line before yours you tuned out their conversation about which one of them could make the furthest shot. Looking at some of the trees nearby you saw several paint splatter marks at varying heights and angles with a few of them being covered in one large amount of paint from something that you wanted to know of, slapping the lid closed on the rifle you stuffed the empty bags into the chest pocket of your jacket with a small grin thinking about what kind of chaos might ensue in the game. Approaching what looked like the rough design of a small town you saw a large flag pole with a blue flag waving at the top of it, glancing over at Jaune you saw him quickly taking in the surrounding forest and buildings with a glimmer of tactical insight in his eyes.

(Y/N): So what are you thinking?
Jaune: Oh I’m just trying to find the best spot to give covering fire without being over exposed to the enemy.
(Y/N): Anything good so far?
Jaune: Well the clock tower looks like a promising but uh….
(Y/N): That’s where they’d be looking before anything else.
Jaune: Exactly. Anything on your end?
(Y/N): See the slender building over there? The one three levels tall.
Jaune: I see it.
(Y/N): How about this you take the left side of it on the third floor and I take the right from the second.
Jaune: That could work, long as Ruby doesn’t see us in her scope.
(Y/N): Played against her before huh?
Jaune: Yeah a few times now. Word of advice on the two of them, Ruby will see you before you see her and Yang will bring the hurt with automatic fire if she gets close enough.
(Y/N): Good to know. Any possible ways to beat them?
Jaune: All you can do is hope to catch them by surprise.
(Y/N): *sigh*Great. You ready to get up that building?
Jaune: We need to wait for the ref to start the game from behind the town.
(Y/N): Oh, alright then. So when we get to the building I’ll launch you to the top floor and quickly follow afterwards to the second.
Jaune: And you’re getting me up there how?
(Y/N): I’m going to be tossing you up there. Don’t worry you’ll be fine.
Jaune: Sorry, just a reaction after being launched by Nora last semester.
(Y/N): That bad?
Jaune: You have no idea. Kind of went through the wall of our dorm.
(Y/N): Well then… never thought she would do that to a team mate.
Jaune: Neither did I until it happened.
(Y/N): Must have been quite the smashing discovery.
Jaune+(Y/N): *laughter*
Jaune: Seems like Yang’s need to make puns rubbed off on you.
(Y/N): I was making puns long before I met you guys but… I guess her need for puns did pass over to me. Terrifying I know, but it was bound to happen at some point.
Jaune: Well if it’s any worth to you, I’m pretty happy that the two of you are together. Looked like the two of you needed someone I don’t know… real. If that makes any sense to you.
(Y/N): *pats Jaune’s shoulder* Don’t worry it makes sense, thank you for your honesty my friend.
Jaune: Any time. So could you maybe help me with getting a date with Weiss?
(Y/N): *Thoughts* How has he not noticed Pyrrah’s emotions to him yet? Freyja please be merciful to the poor girl. *speaking* I’ll see what I can do, no promises that it will work though.
Jaune: Thanks.
(Y/N): No problem.
Ref: Alright let’s get this simulation on the road. Blue team are you ready?!
(Y/N) Jaune + Others: Ready!
Ref: Red team are you ready?!
Red Team: *muffled* Ready!
Ref: Alright three! Two! One! Go, go, go!

Hearing the claxon sound you and Jaune quickly made a mad dash past the others on your team earning a few annoyed yells from the team’s appointed captain, ignoring him for the time being you vaulted yourself over one of the jersey barriers near your desired location before stopping in your tracks thiety feet from the building waiting for Jaune to catch up to you. Having to wait only a few seconds you wrapped your tail around Jaune’s mid section before quickly tossing towards the third floor window which caused him to scream in shock until he landed inside the building, lifting yourself through the second floor window you grabbed one of the desks nearby and placed it by the centre window and used it as a makeshift rifle rest while trying to line up the less than optimal sights on the gun. Watching around half of the team running into the tree line where only a few minutes later you could hear the same popping noise from before in a nearly unending pace while there was the occasional person screaming the words ‘Hit’ and ‘Medic’ several times over. Pulling out your scroll you pulled up Jaune’s number from your contacts and hit the call button, hearing it ring for a few seconds it was soon replaced with the sound of a scroll being placed on either the ground or a table.

Jaune: Hello?
(Y/N): Hey Jaune it’s me.
Jaune: Oh hey (Y/N) what’s up?
(Y/N): You enjoy that little flight?
Jaune: Well thankfully I didn’t have a heart attack over it, but was it really necessary?
(Y/N): You have to admit it was pretty cool though.
Jaune: Yeah it was pretty awesome.
(Y/N): So I need to ask you something. What’s with the people out there shouting the words hit and medic?
Jaune: That’s just what you need to say when you get tagged by a paintball in this game, and medic is so that you can be put back into the fight without going back to re-spawn.
(Y/N): I see, thanks Jaune. I’ll keep in touch if I see something.
Jaune: Same here. *hangs up*
(Y/N): *sigh* I should have run to the front lines… Oh well maybe next time.
*scroll rings*
(Y/N): Hello?
Yang: Guess who babe~!
(Y/N): Well hello to you as well Sólblóm (Sunflower). Aren’t you supposed to refrain from talking with enemy forces even if you are in a relationship them?
Yang: Oh please I’m pretty sure that you’re bored out of your mind right now considering the fact that we didn’t see you on the frontlines. You not being your normal self today?
(Y/N): Define ‘Normal self’ to me.
Yang: Oh you know big scary armoured behemoth with a soft side beneath the scales after the fight is done.
(Y/N): Flattery will get you nowhere today my dear, well… not on this field at least.
Yang: Is that so? Perhaps a few rounds in your direction might change your mind.
(Y/N): Well good to know I’m loved with your threats over an open frequency.
Ruby: Hi (Y/N)!
(Y/N): *chuckle* Hello Ruby, you plan on shooting me as well?
Ruby: And maybe throw a grenade at you in the process.
(Y/N): … You two are kind of terrifying in this game.
Yang: Don’t worry, we know that. How else would we be known as the devilish sisters?
(Y/N): By your normal behaviour?
Yang: Okay now I’m hitting you with a grenade.
(Y/N): Looking forward to seeing you try!
Yang: Oh we won’t be trying; we WILL be throwing grenades at you. Until then! *hangs up*
(Y/N): Hey Jaune, we’re going to have some company here in a bit!
Janue: Oh boy…
(Y/N): Aw cheer up, that just means we go down fighting! *laughter*
Jaune: Would you stop creeping me out with talk like that?!
(Y/N): Not a chance!
------------------------------------------------------------------(Time Skip)----------------------------------------------------------

Stifling a yawn of boredom you rubbed the tiredness from your eyes while reaching for your scroll to check the current time, opening the screen you saw that a solid four hours had passed since the start of the game. Thankfully there were a few fire fights in and around the town in which you claimed a few kills, one of which being a good hit against Weiss which you were certain she would be complaining all the way back to her re-spawn point. Checking the amount of rounds you had left in the gun you were happy with it still remaining half full leaving you with a decent amount for the next fight, settling back against the desk you closed your eyes for a brief moment trying to enjoy the birdsong nearby. Hearing the familiar pop of the paintball rifles you snapped your eyes open and re-shouldered your rifle, peering out the window you saw a few of your teammates scrambling for cover from their exposed positions. Spotting a few red players running under your window you quickly jammed down on the trigger several times taking all five of the players out in a few seconds, looking back to your teammates you saw them running away to a different direction.

(Y/N): Hey, HEY where are they coming from this time?!
Teammate: North side, the whole lot of them! Last push of the game it seems!
(Y/N): Aw yeah here we go folks, time to bring the pain! Jaune you coming with?
Jaune: I’ll just keep to giving cover fire thank you.
(Y/N): Aw you’re no fun today.

Vaulting out of the window you hit the ground sending a large cloud of dust in every direction before racing across the town to get in the fight, hearing a few paintballs fly past your head you took cover behind the house next to you to catch your breath. Poking around the far corner you sent a few shots into the chest of the nearest red player before following the same effect against the one running behind him, scanning the next new alleyways you caught a flash of blonde hair before hearing a quick burst of automatic fire from the same direction. Moving up to the next house you saw Velvet and Coco laying suppressive fire against some blue players in the opposite direction, not wasting the chance you sent another barrage at the two of them effectively taking them out for the moment much to their annoyance. Ducking back behind cover you took the moment to scan the surrounding area behind you which proved to be a waste of time; looking around the corner again you were greeted by the sight of both Yang, Ruby and Blake bearing down on your location with weapons raised, sending a few rounds their way you quickly fell back finding a more secure location with only one way in and out. Aiming towards the doorway you heard footsteps and hushed whispers pass by the door before fading away entirely, hearing your scroll go off in your pocket you let out a few swears under your breath while rushing to turn the item off. Now with the possibility of other people hearing the noise you had to shift to another location, standing up slightly you were making your way to the door until two shadows filled the doorway. Ducking back into the corner you heard a couple of soft metallic pings from outside before three items looking like small black water bags land on the ground  with the closest being only two metres in front of you.

Yang+ Ruby: Grenade out!
(Y/N): OH FOR FUCK-

Before you could finish your sentence your vision was clouded by a large amount of orange paint, without needing to see it you could tell that most of your body was most likely the same colour thanks to the two sisters. Running a hand against the wall you made your way through the doorway with weapon still in hand only to be greeted by the sound of uncontrollable laughter and a camera shutter, spitting out the bit of paint that made it through your mask you would have joined in on the laughter if it weren’t for a comment from the reaper.

Ruby: Wait he never called his hit!
Yang: Open fire!
(Y/N): Oh come on! I’m Hit, I’m damn well hit!
Nora: Kill joy…
*Buzzer sounds*
Ref: Game over, red team has successfully overthrown blue base!

Quickly removing your faceplate you were greeted by the sight of a grinning Yang only a foot away from your face, raising an eyebrow at her she quickly raised one hand and pressed her index finger against your nose with her smile growing even wider.

Yang: Snootel boop!
(Y/N): *internally screaming*
Blake: Is it just me or does he look a bit annoyed?
Weissi: Probably has something to do with him being completely covered in paint. There’s no way that he could be even remotely comfortable right now.
Coco: You think? Poor guy looks like he could use some new clothes.
(Y/N): I could use a stiff drink more than anything right now.
Yang: Well the bar here closed ten minutes ago so that’s not happening.
(Y/N): Ease up on the sarcasm buttercup.
Yang: Or else what?
(Y/N): Or else you join me in being a vibrant orange creature.
Yang: You’re bluffing.
(Y/N): Am I?
Yang: Damn right you are.

Grabbing onto her hand you quickly pulled her against your chest once more and wrapped your tail around her legs and waist earning a bought of muffled laughter from her in return, releasing your hold on her you couldn’t help but laugh at the sight in front of you. What had been a clean set of black coveralls was now almost completely bright orange minus her upper back and most of her hair, bracing for another hit you only got a bought of laughter from Yang while she rested her hands on her hips.

Yang: What am I going to do with you?
(Y/N): Only time will tell. So how did you two react that quickly to my scroll going off?
Ruby: Yang called you.
(Y/N): Is that so?
Yang: *nervous chuckle* Well we were having a hard time finding you so…
(Y/N): So you cheated?
Yang: Kind of…
(Y/N): *sigh* Just don’t do that during the tournament.
Yang: You’re mad at me aren’t you?
(Y/N): Not mad, just slightly annoyed. Now can we please make our way back to Beacon? I’d rather not be orange any longer than I need to be.
Yang: That makes two of us.
(Y/N): You’re wearing coveralls. You can just take those off and you’re fine.
Yang: I’m still orange none the less.
Velvet: She has a point.
Ruby: Let’s move out everyone, we have a long ride ahead of us!
---------------------------------------------------------------(Time Skip)-------------------------------------------------------------

Having finally removed all of the paint from your skin after an almost two and a half hour shower thanks to most of it drying in between scales and gotten a new set of clothes on you were making your way through the dormitories while humming a small tune, watching Nora speed past you with a pancake hanging out of her mouth and Ren close behind holding a skillet you couldn’t help but stop and stare at the direction they went with complete bewilderment. Shaking your head you carried on while removing your scroll from your pocket and opening the lock to your door, moving through the doorway you were greeted with the sight of Ruby, Weiss and Blake doing their normal activities for the night; be it studying for class, reading a new book or even making a few touch ups on their weapons. Oddly enough Yang wasn’t lounging around like normal; in fact she wasn’t in the room at all.

(Y/N): Um, where’s Yang?
Ruby: She’s down in the forge room. Said she has something for you.
(Y/N): And what might this something be?
Weiss: How should we know? She never told us anything about whatever it is just grabbed some of your rune books and rushed out of the room mumbling about something, but she seemed pretty happy at least.
(Y/N): That doesn’t sound like something that she would do. Well guess I should go and find out what ever she’s got going on over there. Talk to you all in a bit!
Ruby: Have fun!

Clambering out of the dorm room you quickly made your way towards the forge while carefully moving past a large number of other students that were mingling in the hallways, as you got closer to your location you could hear the sound of a polishing belt getting louder with every passing second. Slithering through the door you were greeted with the familiar smell of molten iron and treated leather, looking around the nearest work bench you saw the shattered remains of a clay mould and two of your books opened and marked with a sticky note. Peering at the pages you were more than interested in what the mould used to be the books were marked on pages regarding runes of emotions and blessings, everything from joy and luck to perfect marriage and eternal peace. Hearing the polishing belt turn off you looked behind you to see Yang wearing a leather apron over the same clothing from earlier with one of her hands behind her back and a small smile on her face, stopping in front of you she playfully bumped against your hip before walking over to the work table and moving her hands and body so that you couldn’t see what she was holding. Trying to glance over Yang’s shoulder she saw what you were doing and quickly moved to block your view once again before giving you a toothy grin, opting to instead wait out to see what the surprise was you simply leaned against the work bench behind you and whistle an old raven song while Yang was humming her own tune. Watching her turn towards you after about three minutes she still hand one hand behind her back while standing only a few feet in front of you, raising an eyebrow towards her you were about to say something until she lifted a closed fist with a thin strand of leather hanging from between her fingers. Looking back to Yang you saw a faint blush dusting her cheeks as she slowly opened her hand and what you saw caused your heart to stop if only for the briefest of moments, resting amongst a small pile of cloth was a bind rune made from the runes of strength and love forged into polished iron where they connected through the same vertical line that both of them shared. Having not moved from your stance against the work bench Yang must have taken it as the wrong meaning as she closed her hand with a hurt look on her face, snapping back to reality you pulled Yang into a firm hug before spinning around and giving a hearty laugh. Setting her down after a few moments you planted a quick kiss against her forehead while placing your hand over her own fist that held the bind rune, resting your chin on top of her head you heard some soft chuckling coming from Yang as she wrapped her free hand around your back and moving closer to you.

Yang: I almost thought that you didn’t like it.
(Y/N): I’d be a fool to not like it, thank you Yang. So what’s the occasion for such a rune?
Yang: Well since you made one for all of us I figured it would only be fair if someone made another for you in return. As for the design well… I thought it might be a more suiting design than say one of the marks you already have on your skin. Let’s get this around your neck then eh?
(Y/N): *chuckle* Go for it Sunflower.
Yang: You know, I actually like that nick-name.
(Y/N): Then I’ll keep using it from time to time.
Yang: Of course you will, now if you want me to tie this rune around your neck I need to be able to move my arms around.
(Y/N): Oh, right.

Letting go of your grip on Yang you simply let your arms hang at your sides, feeling her hands run along the side of your neck you suppressed a laugh from the tickling sensation of the leather cord occasionally tapping the back of your neck. Hearing the rune occasionally bouncing off of the others in an almost rhythmic pattern, glancing over to Yang you saw her concentrating on the back of your neck where the knot should be. Seeming to be satisfied with her work Yang gave it a firm tug ensuring that it wouldn’t easily come loose; happy with it passing the little test she gave a happy hum before making eye contact with you again and wrapping her arms around your neck, hooking a finger beneath her chin you tilted her head to your own placing a soft kiss on her lips before resting your forehead against her own. Feeling her grip increase around your neck you were pulled into another kiss under her own wish which you could not refuse, moving your hand to the back of her neck deepening the kiss more which caused her to smile into it. After a few moments your lips were once again moving in rhythm with her own while wrapping your free arm around the small of her back and pulling her closer to yourself as her hands lightly pressed against your chest before grabbing fistfuls of the fabric, as much as you wished such a moment could last a season the human need for oxygen was as always a troublesome thing. Resting her head against your chest you felt her gently running a hand along your collar bone while you stood there rubbing your knuckles along her back for the next few minutes in silence just simply enjoying each other’s presence, after a good twenty minutes of this you felt Yang loosen her hold on you before planting another kiss on your cheek and looked you in the eyes.

Yang: We should probably head back to the dormitories now; the girls might get worried over where we are. And it’s also an early morning tomorrow what with that test from Oobleck and all.
(Y/N): That might be for the best. Hey Yang.
Yang: Yeah (Y/N)?
(Y/N): I love you.
Yang: *chuckle* Love you too, Snakey.
(Y/N): You just had to kill the moment…
Yang: I regret nothing of it, now come on we need to get some sleep.
(Y/N): Lead on then oh fearless one.

And that’s the end of another chapter! I hope you guys enjoyed it. Now I will warn all of you now I will be possibly posting the next pieces at a shorter rate as I will have less free time in the coming months to work on this piece or another if I come up with an idea or any of you have one that you would like me to write. But none the less this does not mean that the story is dead, I hope none of you are mad at me over this.

Until the next one!
